Vet vacancy at a small animal practice in Stafford.

Up to £65,000 per annum FTE (D.O.E).

Permanent. Open to full-time & part-time applications.

Hours: 40 hours per week, over 4 days with a set day off, 1:3 Saturday mornings, and no OOH.

This is a group of two small animal practices that have been serving the veterinary needs of companion animals for over three decades. Their premises are accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme in Core Standards and Tier 2 Small Animal General Practice.

As a vet surgeon here, your day-to-day role would consist of 1 day of surgery, 1 day of consultations, and 2 days of a mixture of both. They are open to tailoring the frequency of surgery with your role to match your preference if you have a surgical or consultation bias.

The ideal candidate for this role would be a surgeon who feels comfortable with all primary care duties, but they may be able to support a surgeon with more advanced procedures if they are comfortable with all routine primary care duties.

Both sites are situated in beautiful market towns, just a short 50-minute drive away from the bustling city of Birmingham. We love the fact that we have easy access to both the city and the serene countryside surroundings. Additionally, West Midlands Airport is just an hour``s drive away.

The premises are light, and spacious, and have recently been renovated, one of the sites has two theatres, which are linked by glass, and they have all the necessary equipment such as digital X-ray, in-house blood machines, ultrasound, and dental radiography.

The team comprises of 6 experienced Veterinary Surgeons, a dedicated nurse, and front of house team. As a practice, they take great pride in their closely-knit team, which is very supportive of each other. They are all highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and are committed to maintaining high standards of care for their patients.

They take pride in being a local practice and building a good rapport with their clients. Some of their clients have been visiting them for many years, and they treat every pet that comes through their doors as if they were their own. They believe in case continuity wherever possible. While they primarily care for small animals, they are happy to provide first aid to wildlife and have worked with local aquatic and reptile shops, taking care of odd and interesting creatures like owls, hedgehogs, snakes, and even a baby dragon!

They are proud to have achieved Silver status in the Cat-Friendly scheme in both of their practices, Silver RWAF and Silver Investors in the Environment (iiE) accreditation.
