Lead Vet vacancy at a hospital practice in Cambridgeshire.

From £65,000 per annum (salary dependent on experience).

4 X 9 hour days per week plus 1 in 4 weekends. No nights. Part-time hours also considered.

The practice is a busy 24-hour first opinion small animal hospital with 5 branch surgeries and a state of the art rehabilitation centre. The practice has been caring for pets for over 100 years and they pride themselves on providing the very best contextualised care and service for pets and their owners. Their tier 3 hospital has excellent facilities and equipment and hosts their dedicated out of hours service.

They have a fantastic, experienced and friendly clinical team with many certificate holders and they support and encourage CPD (including certificate study). They have all the equipment available to enable full work up of cases in house - digital radiography including dental radiography, advanced ultrasound machine with an extensive range of probes, video-endoscopy (gastroscope, bronchoscope and small rigid endoscopes), multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring, tonometry, etc. They have just opened a new wing at the hospital with a state-of-the-art operating theatre, treatment rooms and a calm and spacious cat ward. They are also very proud of The Cromwell ARC - a purpose-built physiotherapy and hydrotherapy unit with underwater treadmill and K-Laser, run by their two qualified physiotherapists.

They are expanding their team of Lead Veterinary Surgeons and looking for another experienced vet to support and lead their fantastic veterinary team. Their Lead Veterinary Surgeons are responsible for line management of the vet team, maintaining high standards of patient and client care and optimising the uptake of clinical services. The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will work closely with and assist the Clinical Director to provide leadership, training, and development of the vet team in addition to providing guidance and support to the nursing and client care team. The position will include half a day per week of protected non-clinical time to perform these additional responsibilities.

You will be joining a very welcoming team who all support each other. All of their associates are committed to the care of their clients and their pets, and they would love to hear from applicants who share the same values. You would be working alongside two Advanced Practitioners in medicine and certificate holders in cardiology, dermatology and ECC.

Benefits include 5 weeks holiday + bank holidays + Birthday Leave, RCVS & VDS fees paid, External CPD funded, Staff discount schemes, Life Assurance.
