Surgical Vet vacancy at a hospital in Cambridgeshire.

Salary from £70,000 per annum (Depending on Experience).

4 X 9 hour days per week is standard but other working patterns would be considered. 1 in 4 weekends. No nights.

The practice are searching for an enthusiastic and confident surgical Vet to join the Tier-3 Cambridgeshire hospital. You would take the lead on an existing complex soft tissue and orthopaedic caseload including TTAs , with all the necessary equipment available. They have some wonderful Vets on the team, two of whom are currently working on their own surgical certificates, so to be able to help support and mentor would form an important part of the role. They have two modern operating suites, and have recently undergone a refurbishment and extension making for a great working environment!

You will be joining a very welcoming team who all support each other. All of team are committed to the care of their clients and their pets, and they would love to hear from applicants who share the same values. You would be working alongside two Advanced Practitioners in medicine and certificate holders in cardiology, dermatology and ECC.

The practice is a busy 24-hour first opinion small animal hospital with 5 branch surgeries and a state of the art rehabilitation centre. The practice has been caring for pets for over 100 years and they pride themselves on providing gold standard veterinary medicine. Their tier 3 hospital has excellent facilities and equipment and hosts their dedicated out of hours service.

They have a fantastic, experienced and friendly clinical team with many certificate holders and they support and encourage CPD (including certificate study). They have all the equipment available to enable full work up of cases in house - digital radiography including dental radiography, advanced ultrasound machine with an extensive range of probes, video-endoscopy (gastroscope, bronchoscope and small rigid endoscopes), multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring, tonometry, etc. They have just opened a new wing at the hospital with a state-of-the-art operating theatre, treatment rooms and a calm and spacious cat ward. They are also proud of their purpose-built physiotherapy and hydrotherapy unit with aquatic treadmill and K-Laser, run by their two qualified physiotherapists.
