RVN availability at a busy independent practice in Cambridgeshire.

Salary from £30,000 + Out of hours

Permanent full-time role Monday to Friday 08:30 - 18:30 (45 hours per week)

Night and weekend shifts to provide emergency care on a rota system shared between the nursing team.

Established in 2018, they are a small but busy independent practice. They offer a primary care service for small animals within the county of Cambridgeshire. They provide a comprehensive diagnostics service as well as 24-hour emergency care that is available 365 days of the year to care for their patients at any time. They are an RCVS approved nurse training practice with a an amazing team.

They are looking for an enthusiastic full time Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their branch. They are a small hardworking team that is dedicated to providing the very best care, every day. In this highly rewarding and fulfilling role, you`ll work closely with vets in practice, performing essential nursing duties and ensuring pets have everything they need.

Responsibilities will include:

Animal handling of all species seen in small animal practice.
Nurse consultations such as post operative checks, 2nd vaccinations and euthanasia.
All aspects of theatre practice such as theatre preparation, patient preparation, anaesthetic monitoring and recording, gloving and gowning to assist with surgery, quick and concise reset and shut down.
X-ray positioning and processing.
All aspects of hospitalised patient care to include record keeping, walking, feeding, medicating, personal care and hygiene, frequent monitoring and updating the veterinary surgeon in charge the case of progress, owner updates.
Cleaning of all areas of the clinic to maintain a high level of hygiene and presentation.
Laboratory sample collection (to include urine, blood, skin and hair preparations), handling and processing.
Knowledge of veterinary instrumentation. Cleaning, packing, and sterilising of instruments.
Understanding of stock control, ordering, stock rotation and storage and dispensing.

You must be RCVS registered, confident client communication face to face and on the telephone, professional behaviour and appearance expected.
